The artwork for this deck is beautiful, so it pains me to have to complain that Llewellyn has ruined yet another Tarot deck for me — in this case not because of terrible packaging, which was an issue previously, but because the cards are misprinted and mis-packaged. I received five of the King of Pentacles and three of the Queen, but am missing the Nine, Ten, Page and Knight. This is another sale that must be returned to Amazon because Llewellyn takes little pride in its artists’ work.

Oh wow, I’ve been waiting for this deck to be finished for SIX YEARS! And it was well worth it. These are the absolutely most beautiful cards I’ve ever seen. The watercolour details are so lovely next to the metallic silver border on the card. And the book that comes with it is so perfect. I wasn’t expecting UPS to deliver, but it did arrive in about three days (from california to canada) so I guess that’s okay.

I bought this deck for my mother and i must say, i’m pretty pleased. I’m a fan of the artist, and I think they’ve done a good job with the printing; although small the images are crisp and the colours are wonderfully translucent without losing any of their characteristic vividness. The shipping was excellent; I was told to expect my package in early June and here it is in mid-May. Two thumbs up.
I can’t really comment on the functionality of the cards or the book as I don’t actually read Tarot myself, but It seems like the book gives you an easy-to-read, boiled down introduction to Tarot that would be best supplemented by a more substantial text if you’re only just starting out as it seems a little skinny. Like others I find the lack of a smaller box for the cards (they come just wrapped in plastic) something of a disappointment and shows some lack of thought on the half of the publishers. News flash, Llewellyn, most good tarot readers don’t cart the book around as well and they like to be able to keep their cards discretely in a pocket sometimes. You should know this by now. So basically I have 78 loose cards and I shall have to source a small box for them from somewhere else, which I didn’t expect to have to do.
But the cards themselves, as I say, are gorgeous, so don’t be put off.

I’ve been keeping up with the progress of this deck for years, and have even gone so far as to buy cross-stitch charts of many of them (from Heaven and Earth Designs) AND I bought the hardcover major arcana art book directly from Shadowscapes.
I’ve looked through the deck and book a bit, and am quite pleased with them.
The cards have a narrow silver border, which manages to frame the images nicely without distracting from them, which is great. The images look even better in card form than they do on the computer — crisper, higher contrast, and that silver border gives them an extra touch of depth. Granted, they’re also smaller, but I would have a hard time using cards much larger than these, so I think the size is a good compromise. The book has a good amount of information on each card, although they specifically didn’t include reversal meanings… I like reversals, in general, but that’s still not a major drawback to me.
The only thing, really, that makes me say this set is NEARLY perfect, instead of spot on, is the lack of a properly-sized box or bag for the cards. Of course, there are tons of bags and such available for purchase now, all over the place, but it’s annoying to not get a tailored storage solution with a set as beautiful as this.

I’ve been waiting for this deck for over two years. Finding Stephenie’s artwork was one of the primary motivations behind my study of Tarot, and I have to say, I have not been disappointed by the finished product.
The artwork is unique and flawless. Each image is rich with detail, yet not so dense the meaning of each card is lost. The symbolism is exquisite and quite apt. The printing is high quality. Even if you just like gorgeous artwork, the deck is a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection.
I highly recommend it. A+
